Stone House Art Gallery is pleased to present Lacuna, a collection of new photographs by Charlotte based artist, Amy Herman. These images depict combinations of still life and performative acts to examine the power and deception of memory. Memory, like photography, is a strange likeness in the shape of the original. Herman’s photos recall specific memories of family warped into visual representations. The echoes of the original memories embrace surreal intimacy through the use of family photographs, inherited objects, and the artist’s own body.

Lacuna is on view at SHAG by appointment only through May 11, 2022. A closing Reception will be held on May 12th.
